Report on your initial reactions to the artist's work.
I noticed that there is a lot of colors and a lot of religion too. I also thought the pictures have a lot of elements to the point they can be oversaturated. There's also lots of celebrities.
How would you categorize their work?
Fashion Photography, Celebrity Photography, Commercial Photography, Pop Photography.
Compare their works to works you’ve seen before. How do they compare? Do you like them or dislike them and why?
I've seen photography that involves everything that LaChapelle includes in their photography, but i've seen them separately and laChapelle includes them in just one picture. I think that the fact that he includes so many elements in his pictures it could look oversaturated.
If someone made their work today, how would it be different or the same?
I think his work is very recent that if someone did it today it would be mostly the same. Maybe more recent celebrities.
Analyze the quote at the end of the slide show.
“I believe in a visual language that should be as strong as the written word.” I believe that too. I think that people are just used to someone giving them words for them to understand something while visual language could say more than a word.
Make sure to include images that stood out to you either from the powerpoint or ones found online.
